Solved Internet Speed Test Servers not correct for my location.

Ah crap! Got a response from Maxmind that my IP address had been removed from their database
due to a data privacy request. Trying to find out if there is a process that can get it re-added.

Attempted to see if I could get the router to pull a new IP by leaving the router and ONT down for a half hour.
No joy with that. I guess a support request with my service provider could be a next step.

SUCCESS!
Maxmind added my IP address into their database, so I am now getting a list of servers in my region.
I can use either the ASUS router GUI speedtest or speedtest cli on command line.

agagne@rt-ax92u:/jffs/addons/spdmerlin.d/ookla# ./speedtest -L

On the bright side, you’re not really supposed to run a speed test from the router since it doesn’t measure the routing capability of the device.
Well, sometimes running a speed test from the router is exactly what's needed.

A few months ago my internet speed dropped to about 5% its usual speed. That seemed to be true for all computers on my LAN - wifi and wired. Based on some unexpected error messages in my cable modem's log (and some internet searches), I rebooted the router and everything went back to normal.

This has happened twice since then. Now I always run the speed test from the router first. If it's slow from the router I don't bother with any LAN or host based testing.
