can someone please point me on how set up (safely) ipv6 and firewall on ax86u pro (latest Merlin)?

i only have 2 PCs connected by wire (the radio on asus is off - no wifi)
nothing really happening on network, just browsing and gaming (no vpn or port forwarding or anything else ...)

this is suggested by provider ↓ but they have nothing on the firewall
IPv6 Settings for ASUS routers
In the Advanced Setup / IPv6 menu:

  • Internet Connection Type: Native
  • DHCP-PD: Enable
  • Auto Configuration Settings: Stateless
  • Connect to DNS Server automatically: Enable
  • Enable Router Advertisement: Enable

thanks

so this should be NO ?

No is the default setting for that option. Do you need DoS protection? The (on Asus-Merlin firmware) tooltip for that option when clicked on: "Enabling this feature can protect the router from DoS (Denial- of-Service) attack but it would increase the router's workload."

Ipv6 Wan and Lan Settings are empty? When you hit apply, does it populate? I have used IPV6 Native and 6in4 with no problems. I would set the ipv6 dns to preferred servers.

They're empty because I do not have IPv6 active/enabled. My ISP doesn't support it at the moment. And I haven't tried alternative IPv6 services like Hurricane Electric which some have reported using when their ISP doesn't have IPV6 enabled. Those images were just to show where the settings the OP's "provider" indicated are in the GUI and where the IPv6 firewall setting is.
