Large amount of bandwidth usage while device was idle.

New Around Here
I have a ASUS RT-N66U router running Tomato 1.28 by shibby FW.
I have it all setup and running fine for several weeks however every once in a while I come across bandwidth usage which does not make sense. I noticed the other day that a desktop computer with ethernet connection was sitting idle overnight and the 24hour IP traffic graph shows a very large amount of bandwidth usage for about 4 continuous hours. This also translated to the daily bandwidth usage. Typically this device usage 1Gb per day, and for this particular day it recorded over 4Gb. I know for a fact that it was not being used but was left on overnight. Has anyone else encountered this type of problem. Just wondering if this is a bug in the Tomato firmware? Any input would be appreciated.

Any clue from syslog?

Microsoft automatically downloading updates for future installation?

Malware using your machine as a bot?

Good points, yes it may be the updates downloading.
I didnt know that for W10 my pc could be used for providing updates to others, interesting.

As per Syslog using Tomato FW, I am a noobie, therefore I am not familiar as to how to configure Syslog.
I do have a USB thumbdrive connected to my router to record BW usage which seems to be working fine.
So I guess it is just a matter of configuring the the Syslog properly.
Also, how does Web Monitor differ from Syslog or do they work in conjunction with each other?
Thanks in advance
