Logging and notifications on new devices (dhcp tracking)

looking for any recommendation for scripts or packages for tracking wireless associations and/or dhcp actions (especially focusing on new items)? might want to even create external notifications (by an email or sms notification, or other triggering event to an iot LCD or something.
