Have everything running fine but it seems like every 48hrs I need to unplug asus to reset it as the connection is hung up. The asus is connected to my 2wire modem from lan port to wan port. The only settings I've changed in Merlin is adding the pia setup. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using IP address in the Server Address and Port section?
or are you putting ca-toronto.privateinternetaccess.com
If you use IP address that wont happen. You can Ping the server by connecting to openvpn software and then use the ip on your router. You can change it on your own every couple of days.
I use ca-toronto.privateinternetaccess.com and I turn the on off button every day and it changes the IP address.
