I'm currently using the RT-AC66U and experiencing the same issue outlined in this post.
My laptop is a 13-inch, Mid 2009 MBP, and I do see a transmit rate of 300mbps if I reboot the router, but when waking the computer from standby, the transmit rate starts at 81mbps and gradually works its way back up to 150mbps, where it stays. My girlfriend's newer MBP sees 450mbps after rebooting the router, but also experiences the same issue, getting stuck at 150mbps when reconnecting after standby.
The original referenced post indicates that the switch to SDK6 in newer firmware seems to address this issue for the RT-N66U, but I've done extensive searching and can't seem to find anything for the RT-AC66U. Thanks in advance to anyone that can point me in the right direction, and my sincere apologies if this topic has been covered before!
