New Around Here
Hey guys

Recently build a htpc + nas for myself, I earlier had computer with adsl modem router and linksys 160n wireless router.

Now Linksys Router acts as the acces point computer 1 connected to Linksys router via wire.

Computer 2 connected via wireless via linksys adapter 600N...

Both computers can connect to the net and downlaod at full throttle..

But when it comes to mstsc or computer to computer transfer over the network it shows true colours and transfers at 1.2 mb/sec as per win 7 it takes 10gb abt 3 hrs to transfer...

Main machine as win 7 x64 and nas/Htpc has Win 7 x86....

I have tried full duplex and all but still beating my head to the wall...
Cant figure out why such slow speeds when drive to pen drive transfer are 40mb/sec.

Guys please help out.....
Sorry had posted earlier in the wired router segment

guys I altleast expected 1 response...

Just fiddled with the security changed from WEP to WPA2-AES sppeds increased from 1 mb/sec to 7-8 mb/sec...

Still trying to get it better...Transfer speeds please do post..

8 MBytes/sec is ~64 Mbps, which is typical of N transfer speeds.

If you're transferring GB of data, use a wired connection, or be patient.
