New Around Here
Good morning.

I've recently acquired an Asus RT-AC86u to replace a failing/outdated D-Link router. I've successfully installed the most recent Asuswrt-Merlin build (382.1_2) and have been running strong for about 24hrs without issue.

Today; I've begun the process of attempting to get either (or both) NetData and YAMon3 installed.

I've followed the Entware-NG guide for installation and did not experience any issues. My pre-formatted EXT2 USB drive (2GB) is installed into the router.

From there, I installed NetData and I get the error message:
"Access to file is not permitted: /opt/share/netdata/web/"
Regarding YAMon3 - all indications are that it is running. Having installed it successfully on the D-Link router, I can run the installer to /opt/YAMon3 and there are no errors. /tmp/YAMon3.3-running exists in /tmp/ but accessing the site gives me a 404 error.

I've done some searching and haven't come across a solution to either of these issues.

In troubleshooting I've removed Entware-NG and re-installed. I've re-installed NetData and have the same results as prior (access error).

I'd love some guidance from anyone who has encountered similar.

Thanks.

Edit

netdata.conf

Code:
[web]
 web files owner = admin
 web files group = admin
 # default port = 19999
 # bind to = *
change to
Code:
[web]
 web files owner = admin
 web files group = root
 # default port = 19999
 # bind to = *

and restart netdata.

Also I recall you should disable 'python.d' and beware that there is a thread recommendation to reduce the logging for fear of wearing out NAND.

the one thing i miss most from my linksys wrt is yamon3.
i just assumed on asus+merlin it would not work at all.
