outgoing traffic blocked asus rt-ac68u merlin

Hi. Just setting up this router. All basic settings so far.
I have an ubuntu server on a static ip. All outbound traffic from the server is blocked. Am I missing a setting?
The only things I changed from the standard:

• I have created a /jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf.add
• firewall is turned off.
• I've set the DCHP ip pool
• I have assigned several static IPs

from the server I can't ping anything.
from the router I can ping everything.
from the windows command line I can ping everything.

Make sure the gateway and DNS are correct on your server. Asuswrt does not block any outbound traffic.

Thanks. I have the lan>default gateway set to the routers ip. 192.168.1.xxx
the lan>dns servers are set to google 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

nothing.

I can switch back to my dd-wrt netgear wndr3700 and all works as expected.

factory reset and all well now. thanks. now I will start tweaking it one setting at a time and see what I did wrong.
