I needed to do some bench testing so I pulled out an old rt-n56u and did an initial setup with the stock firmware. All was going well but I wanted to see the effect of the Padavan firmware and the Master Browser setting in an environment with WIN 7 & WIN 10 along with some old and new synology NAS devices. I was testing the network browsing when SMB 1 is completely disabled on my PC's.
Unfortunately the Master Browser didn't give me what I was looking for but it was worth the test. I will leave the firmware as is but I clearly noticed that without a QOS feature in the firmware the bufferbloat is super high. On the stock firmware a simple QOS setting (95% of the full bandwidth up/down) gave "A" rating bufferbloat.
I'm definitely not a Linux guy but I do have colleagues that are yet I really don't see how to add the QOS feature set to the firmware. Is it available? OR is their a precompiled image with the QOS in it?
Thanks in Advance and Happy New Year to All
