New Around Here
Hello,

I have been facing this issue for last months:
- I set Parental Controls for my child (2 devices, time schedule)
- In the system log I can see:
Sep 16 17:48:40 rc_service: httpds 1876:notify_rc restart_firewall
- Parental Controls is active, my son can use Internet as I want
- for this moment all is ok

But after few hours Parental Controls is turn off:
- data for time scheduling = hours-from - hours-to remain
- but settings is turn off
I noticed in system log another record "restart_firewall".

I expect that "restart_firewall" makes Parental Controls turn off.
Am I right? What is triggered "restart_firewall"? Why?

In the past (before few months) Parental Controls worked correctly.

Thanks,
Pavel

My router:
RT-AC86U
Operation Mode:Wireless router
Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.386_44470

What is the exact full line in the syslog? If it's
Code:
rc_service: httpds 1389:notify_rc restart_firewall
that would indicate that someone was logged into the router's GUI and manually changed something that effects the firewall.

Better still, upload the complete unedited syslog to pastebin and post a link to it.

Yes, whole line is "rc_service: httpds 1876:notify_rc restart_firewall".
One hour syslog is here. In the end you can see "restart_firewall" (there are two line because i have two time schedule settings - I expect).

I am not aware other manual change. Only I am admin of our home router.
I have changed admin password right now :)

You only see the "restart_firewall" messages when you are manually changing the settings. The "httpds" part indicates that it was done by a human through the web interface rather than being some automatic function. You don't see those messages in normal operation (e.g. when it changes from blocked to unblocked).

The person who is blocked will see this message:
Untitled.png

So if they know the router's login details they can click on "Go" and follow the instructions to disable it.
