Persistent low R/W speed over USB

AC68U, new Router, restricted fw so i can not flash 380.59.

Not sure if I m at right place to ask:

I see the USB 2/3 R/W speeds are around 7 MB/s.

Any guide if this can be tweaked?

You most likely need a faster USB drive, write speed is quite slow on a lot of inexpensive USB flash drives. Hard disks are able to reach well over 50 MB/s on the USB 3.0 port.

I shall check with HDD now.

UPDATE:
Its 15 MB/s from USB 3.0 HDD to PC[wired]
; 9 MB/s from HDD [wireless]
