pfsense 2.2.1 running in HyperV 2012 gen1

I just read pfsense 2.21 will now run in a Hyper V 2012 gen1. It has me thinking. I already run a server with a UTM. What if I run HyperV 2012 and run both pfsense 2.2.1 and a virtual UTM. I run the server already so power draw would be the same maybe less if I don’t run a hardware router.

I was thinking about buying a Edgerouter lite when firmware 1.7 stabilized. Maybe I would be better off running a software router. Is anybody running a virtualized pfsense? Does it run well and is it stable?

pfSense 2.2.x is rather new, so there are some busy threads regarding a few virtualization quirks.
