if it is old printer and on 2.4g, try to change the modulation scheme to MCS 9:

Out of curiosity, are you using the Unbound DNS addon? When I had this installed my printer stopped communicating with anything. Once I uninstalled Unbound it went back to normal. I had to stop using it because of this unfortunately. I never found a solution.

That worked thank you. Before I changed it I tried setting up the new printer and that wouldn't connect either until I changed the modulation scheme. I was hoping the new printer would be AC compatible but only N.
