[Qns] Any custom settings required for AES-NI acceleration?

According to this PIA post, some specific custom config instructions were required to get AES-NI to work on Merlin fw (as per the pic below from https://www.privateinternetaccess.c...celeration-is-here-for-routers-using-openvpn/)

Are these custom settings really required with a VPN service provider? I thought Openssl in Merlin would already use the AES-NI engine by default (ac86u)?

AES-NI is used by default, no special configuration required.
 
Thanks - just confirmed that it's working on the Astrill VPN applet without any additional custom config.

I get 3x the speeds on my ac86u (190mbps+) vs my ac88u (60-70mbps+)
