QoS = Increased Latency?

I am trying to set up QoS on my RT-AC68 so that when someone is torrenting it does not have a detrimental effect on my gaming (Counter Strike Global Offensive). I tried just turning on the QoS option as well as setting manual priorities for the game. Regardless, it seems when QoS is on at all, it creates increased latency and a jittery/lag effect when I am gaming. I have 30mbps/4mbps cable internet. Turning off QoS, everything is buttery smooth.

Does anyone know how to get QoS working properly in my scenario?

Running on latest Merlin build: RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_374.38_2

remove all the rules.

i'm using this essentially;

highest 53
highest 27000:27100
high 80
high 443

add game server ports to 'highest', leave torrents undefined
