R6300 with MyBookLiveDuo bad performance

New Around Here
Hi,

I own a R6300 router with a MyBookLiveDuo NAS and I get about 3-4 Mbps in either upload or download from my laptop (Vaio T15 which has a 802.11n qualcom Atheros wifi). Even if I sit right next to the router the performances are not improving. I also tried FTP transfer, but it seems even slower.

Is that normal or what?

Transfer to/from a server on your LAN, not via the Internet? Is signal strength is excellent?
What's the laptop showing for WiFi raw connection speed?

Beware 3ft. or so or more... to avoid receiver overload on either end.
