I have been installing various Firmwares on my AC66/

I don't use AICloud. VPN.

I like parental controls to work.
They have not worked for along time;
since then I have loaded just about every firmware available.
DD-WRT works just fine, limited to IPV6 PD
Tomato Limited no 5ghz
asus firmware no parental controls worked really since 188,164
Wireless was lots stronger signal back then as well.

so I am thinking of going to back to one of these versions;
any objections please let me know.

Chris

I am using Tomato USB Shibby on my N66U with no problem on the 5 GHz band. What verion of Tomato did you try ?

The Tomato builds of RT-AC66U from Shibby and Victek are still a bit experimental. They are still finalizing fixing a few quirks left, such as 5 GHz related issues. This isn't the same as with the RT-N66U as it's a different SDK and a different chip handling 5 GHz (due to 802.11ac).

I think one of the issues left (at least with Shibby) is you have to set the router region to EU for the 5 GHz band to work properly.

I went with .220.18 Merlin until tomato raf gets his released

Thanks Merlin
