My RT-AC68P has two USB ports, one each 2.0 and 3.0. I have two flash drives, one USB 3.0 and the other not 3.0. If I plug the 3.0 drive into the 2.0 port and the other into the 3.0 port, I am able to see both--on my network and in the ASUS network map. But if I plug the 3.0 drive into the 3.0 port and the other drive into the 2.0 port, I am only able to see the other drive in the 2.0 port on my network and the 3.0 port shows "No Device." I would like to be able to use the 3.0 drive in the 3.0 port, any suggestions appreciated.

Remove and then reinsert the USB device. Now look in the router's System Log - General Log. The error messages might provide a clue to the problem.

Thanks, results follow, no change--still no device displayed in Network Map. Troubleshooting follows, flash drives are Lexar (2.0) and Sandisk (3.0). Log entries are above my level of comprehension.

I'm assuming the USB 3 device is the SanDisk? It doesn't look like it's been physically detected at all (there's nothing in the log). So it might just be incompatible hardware. What is the precise model number for this device?

Can you change the "USB Mode" for that port? Untitled.png

Side note: Because you just pulled out the devices when they were mounted successfully without unmounting them first they are both now corrupted. So you need to repair the corruption or reformat the drives before using them.

The Sandisk device is "Sandisk Ultra 3.0." I have repaired the drives, re-inserted and have the same result, USB 2.0 OK, USB 3.0 "No Device" so the USB status window does not even show up. Log follows:

Well as before the SanDisk is not being detected at the physical level so I'm at a loss. Maybe the pins on either the plug or socket are dirty or damaged (USB 3 has 5 extra pins). Try blasting to socket with compressed air.
