RT-AC68R slow 5G speeds????

Hey guys I am having an issue with the 5G connection with this new ASUS RT-AC68R. I am running Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374_4561, Windows 8.1. If I use the 2.4 or hard wired connections I have no issue with my speeds tests, I always get 114 down and 6 up, my ping stays around 15 to 20. When I run a speed test with the 5G connection I get 15 down and 6 up, my ping stays the same 15 to 20.

The router was very easy to set up and had no issues while setting it up. I have tried using QOS and also without QOS on the 5G connections, and get the same result low down load speeds. So I am wondering if anyone can help me out or if they are having the same issues.

Also I have this yellow exclamation point flashing, it tells me to do something but I really do not understand what it is asking me to do?? Should I just leave it alone or can someone explain it to me.
Thanks guys.

For the 5GHz speeds, have you changed the wireless channel or bandwith to see if it affects your speeds? This can be done under Wireless > General (make sure it says 5GHz in the Frequency box before you continue).

Change Wireless Mode to N + AC
Change the Channel bandwith to 80MHz
Try other Control Channels.

Make sure you are using WPA2-Personal for Authentication Method. The older methods provide slower transfer speeds.

Also, if you go to Wireless > Professional

Try to increase Tx power adjustment to 100mW.

Let us know if this helps. If not, come back and we can suggest other settings to tinker with.

For the Exclamation Mark, you need to disable some features.

Click on the exclaimation mark and it should give you messages, with a link to click on to go to the related option to change.

You have to make sure that you are not using the default password (if you want to change it)

You also have to disable Samba share without account, and FTP Share without account.

For the FTP share, you may have to click Share without account, and then click Share with account right after in order to remove the prompt.

Ok thanks I am trying this now will let you know how it turns out. Again thanks for your help man.

Ok so I did the everything you told me too and it is working now!!!!! Had to change the Control Channel to 48 and now it works flawlessly!!!

Also followed your instructions for the yellow thing too and its gone man.

Thanks again for all your help man!!!:)
