RT-AC68U USB 3.0 more than one drive?

I have a 2Tb hard drive connected to the USB 3 port on the router and I'm thinking of adding a 2nd drive. Obviously I'd prefer to use the USB 3 port, I'm just wondering if it's possible to use a USB hub to add more than one drive to the USB 3 port?

hi my question would be why , the usb is slow even the usb 3

suggest you look at buying a 2 bay NAS enclosure and put those 2 hdd's in it and get far far far better speed eg 110MB/s and remove the load from the 68u cpu

there would also be the issue of how these usb 3 hdd's would be powered if connected to any sort of usb 3 docking station , just do your self a huge favour and look at a NAS

Thanks for the reply, the cost has just put me off doing it, i'll stick with the 2Tb and just delete files when they've been watched

a starter nas enclosure would cost less that $200 and thats here in OZ , so cheaper if you live in the states , i started with a dlink dns-327L which for streaming worked great

Might be a blanket comment - there are a few USB3 hub chipsets that don't forward attached device info correctly - pretty hard to sort, and not all kernel drivers for xHCI play correctly in that case...

USB3 hubs have been a headache across multiple platforms - not an Asus issue, it's a Linux issue, along with HW concerns on the hub...

Either this hub is not working as "native" USB 3.0 hubs, or it's downgrading to USB 2.0. USB 3.0 hubs require specific kernel support, so far most hubs tested by people (including one I tested myself) won't work at USB 3.0 speed. Search the forums for their feedback.

Asuswrt actually has USB hub support, and will properly list multiple devices. Its kernel just lack specific USB 3.0 hub support.

can You put print screen from network map or samba share screen ?

Not sure what you want to check with a printscreen but...

USB 2.0 support? Like RMerlin stated before works but with USB 2.0 speeds...
