A Chinese AC86U has only two GUI languages options, English and Chinese.

As long as it is a genuine Asus router, regardless of the country.

AFAIK, Asus uses the same firmware across all countries.

on chinese version in advanced WiFi settings you can set the WiFi-region according to where you use it.

Only (big) negative of the Chinese version, after a factory reset or firmware restore the following 3-4 panels on power-up are all Chinese, needed to be completed, before you can get to the panel to flip language from Chinese to English. Wireless (professional) gives you channel 12/13...I change back to North America setup as in Canada.

You could step over, only need to use url for main page or network overview where you directly can change the language: 192.168.50.1/index.asp or router.asus.com/index.asp
