RT-AC88U can login to main GUI but not Download Master

New update today for AX88U. Deleted all asus and download folders reinstalled Download Master from router interface and it works again.

Figured it out. I used a very long and complex password generated by my password manager for the router login, I think the download master can't create a user with it. I uninstalled download master, change router password to something very simple (10 char, 1 symbol, 1 number), re-install download master. And everything works.

I managed to solve the problem; on RT-AC88u on latest firmware.

what i did was

Change main router login password to something more simple 10 characters ( 8 characters, + 1 number +1 symbol)

Reboot router

Format a new USB thumb drive disk under the router disk section tools

take it out and then just copy and paste the 2 backupfiles in this thread into the disk.

On the router turn off the radios and On again (press the bottom right button on the router or from admin GUI)

Then go to the asus router admin page > USB application and u will see download master ; install . Do the install and it will work this time u will go to the torrents page


For another HDD disk i did not format

I just delete everything that is asus related( ensure nothing remains on the disk, u can leave download2 folder intact if u have files on it ) and just copy and paste everything from the earlier USB disk that i created



now both disks work fine . cheers.
