RT-AX86U - VPN Director Rules are not saving. Logs flooded with kernel: jffs2: Argh. No free space left for GC

Hi,
Thanks for your help!

I did multiple reboots, but they went fine.

I do have backups of settings and jffs.

How do I create a nvram backup?

Also, if it's not bad secort, which other hardware problem could it be?

I'm a but confused of what the next steps are for me. As I said, everything seems to work fine as it is, it's just the fact that I can't change anything.

So even after reboots, still getting the error? Wow. Something might be corrupted on the nand/flash device.

I should have said “backup Router Settings” under the Administration->Restore/Save/Upload Settings.

I would then do a factory device reset. Reboot and restore your settings.

Let’s see if that restores sanity

I'll try this when it's safe to do so (working from home + kids) , but again I'm very scared that if that is read only now, it won't allow me to restore settings, and then it will be basically bricked.

The only thing that makes me optimistic is the fact that I've always done dirty installs, so this could be expected.

I'll keep you posted when I'll do the factory reset, thanks a lot for now!

Good luck!

Maybe beg/borrow or buy a used router in case it does brick. It’s ironic that now a WiFi router is an essential function in a house. I keep a spare/old AX58U for that reason ;-)

BTW, is it still under warranty?
