RT-BE92U LAN issue after upgrading to the latest firmware

ashishrc

New Around Here
I am facing the following issue with both RT-BE92U_3006_102.5_0 & RT-BE92U_3006_102.6_0, whereas the initial release version RT-BE92U_3006_102.4_0 works perfectly fine.

The RT-BE92U LAN port behaves weirdly after upgrading to RT-BE92U_3006_102.5_0 & RT-BE92U_3006_102.6_0. Both versions exhibit the persistent behaviour, even after a complete router reset.
Before installingthe new 6.0 and 5.0 versions

All 4 LAN Ports behave the same. Do you have any advice on what to do?

How exactly do you measure LAN port 1-4 Ethernet throughput using cell phone? Just looking at the Wi-Fi signal icon the first test was done with good signal 3-bars, the second with weaker signal 2 bars. Did you check RSSI level and link speed to this client in System Log, Wireless Log?

I have a Google Nest router connected to the RT-BE92U LAN port, and I'm using Google Home to check this.

What you did is wireless test from your phone with different strength signal to whatever your phone was connected. This is what your screenshots show. There is also a message on your screen saying "Speed test may show varying results depending on multiple conditions" with a link "Learn more". Did you learn more?

Yes, I did it. It's generic help from Good Nest. https://support.google.com/googlene...770374278911-393583181&p=wifi_speed_test&rd=1

Key observation.

If I installed RT-BE92U_3006_102.4_0, all LAN ports work correctly without any errors. 🟢
If I upgraded to RT-BE92U_3006_102.5_0 or RT-BE92U_3006_102.6_0, all LAN ports show that abnormality.
So something has changed RT-BE92U_3006_102.4_0 to RT-BE92U_3006_102.5_0, which is impacting the LAN capability. 🔴

I have tried the official release
1. ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38962 release date 2025/08/27 🟢
2. ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38979 release date 2025/10/31 🟢
3. ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_38980 release date 2025/11/18 🟢
All versions work fine, no issues at all. However, I like the Asus Marline💚 because it allows me to install custom applications, which is not feasible in the original version.

Just wanted to interject and make a small correction directed at my wingman, @Tech9, since I'm running the same kind of setup... When you run a speed test within the Google Home app, the results reflect the speed from the internet (or Asus Router in this case) to your Google Nest router. You can run a separate speed test from the wireless device to the Google Nest router.

I have not experienced any issues with any LAN ports from my Google Nest Pro router that would affect its speed. I would encourage you to perhaps try switching it to a different LAN port, because we have come across an issue where a certain LAN port blocked traffic going to other LAN ports, at least on the GT-BE98 Pro.

Got it! 👍

Some common weirdness with RT-BE92U then. Here is another one and very nice. 😕

Nice find! Might be a BE-series related issue after all. Hope this gets resolved because I lost a lot of hair over this issue when I was setting up my new BE98. ;)

Hmm... may be a new feature? As per ASUS own FAQ (last updated Nov 2025) looks like a bug.

Love new features like this! :p You have a link to this? Would love to see what they have to say about it?
