Serve clients connected to AP from AP's DHCP server

Hello.
I have an Asus router and an AP connected to it. (AP gets IP from router's DHCP. Both are on the same subnet '192.168.1.0/24'.)
I'd like to serve clients connected to the AP from AP's DHCP server instead of the router's.
How can I do it?
I can config DHCP range '192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.149' in the router and '192.168.1.150 - 192.168.1.199' in the AP but I don't know if there will be any conflict or random DHCP server usage.

The problem is that when a device makes a DHCP server request for settings, it's possible that both the router and the AP could reply, and you cannot guarantee that the client device will accept settings from the device you want it to!
Some devices use "DHCP relay" which depending on the implementation could enable you to do this correctly.

Most AP's don't have DHCP servers. What model of AP do you have?
I know about this from people doing this with Pi-Holes and making a mess of it, and the fingbox that automatically messes up your network!
