Skynet Skynet filter list issue - [*] List Content Error Detected - Stopping Banmalware

What in the world is CtrlD?! Not sure if I've ever heard of anyone ever using this before... I'll need to dive into the search to learn more I guess.
If you use Windscribe VPN then you will know 'ControlD' as it came from the needs of the VPN side, sort of !!!

See https://controld.com/about-us

I use Windscribe and it works well for me.

Of cousre, not to suggest that you meant otherwise @Twiglets, but controld works like totally fine independent of windscribe vpn

Surprised no one jumped yet about the fact ControlD founder is most likely fluent in Russian... and most of Entware team too, not to mention the alternative firmware developer for popular brand routers. They are watching you. 🤫🤭

Are you afraid they may annex your routers to serve a deeper maniacal purpose? If so, the conversion has already started.

As long as the source is open and able to be inspected, I'm OK with it. Doesn't mean that shenanigans can't happen, as it does set the stage for a perfect supply chain attack.

Can't recommend it just because of pricing structure. The same service for 2USD, 2GBP, 2EUR, 2CHF is not the same price. Also this "Canadian" company is charging more Canadians than Americans. I'm sorry, but 4USD is not 6CAD.

They had specials back in the day, like up until about close to a year ago, that's when i got them.

what is more apparent is the difference in how the cost systems are structured which inevitably contributes to the overall cost differences. You are correct in the case of 4USD versus 6CAD. It is sad it turns out to be that way. The conversion rate usually fluctuates- 1 USD is worth between 1.3710 CAD and 1.372204 CAD. So in reality the cost should really be roughly 5.50 in CAD. It kind of makes you wonder what the canadian governments cut looks like. Or if the canadian based company truely likes slightly over charging canadians. Then again if the canadian company only handles USD, some of that cost coulds be to cover fees associated with conversion.

And even if someone wants to pay for upstream filtering what guarantees the clients will use this exactly DNS service? Whoever knows how to do things does it locally and makes sure there is no clients going around. Whoever doesn't know - just pays for no guaranteed results.
