Some newbie question

Just converted an tmobile TM-AC1900 into a RT-AC68U with the latest Merlin stable firmware. Some basic questions:

1) In DHCP reserve list, the mac address field and ip-address field does not respond to ctrl-v for paste. Only shift-insert. Can we get ctrl-v to work as paste in here as well?

2) How does the CFE gets updated now that the unit is a RT-AC68U? Will the merlin firmware update it as needed? Or do I need to flash to an official RT-AC68U firmware to get it updated? It currently has 1.0.2.0. The tmobile version had 2.1.2.4.

3) I have the following temp reading, is this normal?
2.4 GHz: 51°C - 5 GHz: 54°C - CPU: 86°C

4) How do I save/restore dhcp reserve list via the command line?

A1. I think this is by design so that via the GUI you can't input a MAC that hasn't physically been seen/validated to the router...however see Answer 4!

A4. You can write a script.....and as an additional bonus you can then 'sort' the DHCP GUI entries into the order which you find most useful!..alphabetical, I/P address, device type etc.

Currently up-to-date CFE for RT-AC68u is 1.0.2.0, i dont think you can upgrade it

Newest version is 1.0.2.1 and you can update it. The is a CFE dumps thread on these forums that has links to the files (including the MTDWrite utility) and instructions on updating. I have also written a guide on SlickDeals with details on updating the CFE bootloader on these routers.

I changed my from the TMobile 2.1.2.1 to Asus 1.0.2.0 to Asus 1.0.2.1.

Also, some firmwares lately will do a CFE update for you automatically. Not sure if they will continue to do this as it is somewhat risky to update the bootloader (risk bricking the unit).
