Try a small switch in between AppleTV4K and your router. If it helps then there is a problem with the auto port speed.

the problem is that I don't have a spare switch and I am not intending to buy one

when you say, there is a problem with the auto port speed, you mean on the asus ? it's definitely odd because I have a NAS and an Nvidia shield TV plugged in ethernet on the router and they both work well.
