Suggestions for running Cat5e/Cat6 to rooms in a new house

Or maybe do your longest runs in CAT6a and the rest in CAT5e.

Thanks
If it's the sort of situation where you're not going to want to have to go back and mess with wires in the walls in 8 years, then i'd recommend cat6a. That's the rating that can support 10gbps over its full length.

Thanks. I’ll look at my budget then and make the best decision. The installer said So price per line cat5 $40 regular Cat6 $70 and Cat6A $80. Going to have about 20 runs.

Make sure it is CAT5e not CAT5..... Look at the cable it will be stated on the cable. All copper would be preferred. But CAT5e is a must.

I think you can get away with all CAT5e unless there is a real long run.
