Hello,
I am new to this forum, I have had various WLAN routers from Asus.
Now I am tempted to replace a RT-AC87U that works as access to the outside world and WLAN for the attic as well as DHCP server in my private network.
Since years I use the merlin firmwares and am happy with them. The RT-AC87U sits behind a Fritz!Box 7490, which acts as the access to my glass fibre internet connection. For the RT-AC87U there are no updates available anymore.
For the living area I use an RT-AC86U with the latest merlin firmware.
My questions are:
- does any Merlin firmware run on the TUF-AX5400?
- is it a worthy replacement for the RT-87U?
The reason behind that question is that this week there is a good deal for the TUF-AX5400.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
