Unable to Install Asus Download Master in USB Application - Asus Rt-Ax92U

Will try the browser method, just to reconfirm, the pc ip should be on 192.168.1.10, subnet 255.255.255.0, hit the reset method start the rescue process thru browser instead of app
Yes. I also set the PC's Default Gateway to 192.168.1.1 (although theoretically that shouldn't be required).

I can't quite remember the exact wording on the browser recovery page. If it's not obvious what to do just take a picture of it and post it here.

Check your browser settings. Some browsers will automatically switch http URLs to https, which won't work as the recovery interface is http only. http://192.168.1.1

SSH and telnet aren't enabled in recovery mode.

i manually typed in http:// , tried 4 browsers .
In normal mode too, i get the same error - telnet ; failed, ssh - refused. i guess its flash chip gone bad -

Even with a working router those services aren't enabled by default. So in itself that's nothing unusual.

But if you don't even see anything in the router's System Log that sounds fairly catastrophic. Can you change anything in the router's GUI that persists after a reboot, e.g. an SSID name?

I can change said, ip address etc. I have put it as a node for now. Main router being RT ac 3100
My plan was to put the ax92u as main router and at ac3100 as nodes

i had enabled Telnet and SSH., yet unable to connect.

@chetansha, the stock Asus 3.0.0.4.388_22525 for the RT-AX92U is out of date (2023/02/16). If you had enabled any of the AiCloud features its possible your router was infected by malware. There is big discussion on that particular issue with AiCloud and possible ways to recover the router here:

If you haven't done so already, try performing a hard factory reset for your router model.

Disconnect all devices and USB drives from the router before performing the hard factory reset. After the reset connect one single computer to the router's LAN port by Ethernet and try to access the router's GUI to run the QiS (Quick Internet Setup). If you can access the QiS screen, then complete a manual configuration of the router. Do not import a saved router.cfg file. Then try updating the firmware to the latest version.
I am afraid that what you said maybe true. Affected by Malware, cos the first sign is that LOGGING Is disabled., what should be my next steps. I am not able to update firmware .

See the malware discussion topic for more suggestions along with possibly contacting the few who are helping people fix their routers who are affected by that specific malware infection.

If you haven't done so already, at the very least disconnect the router from the internet and perform a hard factory reset to see if you can regain access to the router.
