Unbound Unbound question

I have the easy installation of unbound working with no modifications.

General question about how it works. If unbound is unable to resolve a request via cache, IE; visiting page for the first time or any other reason, is it referencing the DNS addresses I have listed in the DNS Director tab to do that?

Hello,
being practically without knowledge, I installed "Unbound", having apparently understood its usefulness. I have a question: in "WAN" "DNS server", do I have to specify other IP’s!? (because they are currently set to "Quad9".
