New Around Here
Hi

I used to have a secure link/site while logging into my router and also when I resetting the router. I have altibox ISP. Summer 2019 they changed the outtake for internett and tv to a combined modem/router , Zyxel wmg 8825. I use a router from asus rt-ac87u ac2400. I used to have a secure login link to asus..but now it is unsecure. Altibox said everything is ok on their system.

How does I make the login secure again? (this is my main question)

I tried to choose https in system setting without success...I just choose https instead of http and click apply..but when I try to login the link is gone..not abel to connect..not reachable..

How does go fourth to create https...and is this the solution for a save login. Or is this just a cosmetic solution..making it look safe?

I have a supicioun that the ISP ..one have to login into a cloud the get to setting to my modem..does not seem so secure to me..but I might be wrong.

Hope some people here have a solution. I cant be the only one that has encoutered this problem.

I have the latest firmware off course and .

My stationary pc is not new. phenom processor 3.4 ghz and gigabyte 890gpa mainboard. But this should not be any probem right?

I also see there are several unsecure sites on net..like my local library and aliexpress to name a couple.

I think also I have been subjected to hacking...one time my firewall was dissabled and also been looged out of my avira prime protection (antivirus prog)..and I have problem that cpu is at 100 persent for the easy tasks as opening a program or website..I know my pc and it is not like this normally. But all this is just probably not valid info. But I just wanted to write it in case it is important info.
Anyway maybe I should buy new processor and mainboard with newer drivers to be more secure, but the security of the router is the most important for a secure pc..since the router is the most important thing for a secure pc.

In order to simplify, I choose to answer this in native language...

Velg Import/persistent auto-generated, og sett Generate a new certificate til JA, trykk bruk.

From Google translate. The paragraphing might not be correct.

I understand that you are most likely running Merlin 384.13_4 on your router? After installing the latest firmware, did you reset the router with the Initialize Settings check box ... ticked off? If no, this makes for a most stable starting point.

Then go to Administration-> System-> Local Access Configuration-> BOTH Authentication Method, then press Go to Wan-> DDNS-> Webui SSL Certificate.

Select Import / persistent auto-generated and set Generate a new certificate to YES, press Apply.

Then you should be able to log in with https. You will still be able to get a warning that this is not a secure page, since the router now uses a self-signed certificate, but you should be able to choose to import and authenticate this certificate in your browser so that this warning eventually disappears ...

The most important thing is that you can do security for your router, however, to make sure you have NOT checked yes on Enable WAN Internet Access and that you have enabled the Aiprotection features on the router.

Good luck
