Entware Usb storage for asusmirlin ?

As a reminder, USB NAND is some of the cheapest made by the industry. There are good, better and best brands but in the end, it's really not designed for extended I/O. This has been discussed many times in several prior threads. A more reliable, longer term alternative, which will perform better and last longer, is to: a) buy a UGREEN USB SSD enclosure (see threads) and lower cost smaller SATA SSD (or use an older one you have laying around) to take this workload.

I totally agree however I didn't taken this path, shame :).

This is my 1st attempt to setup Gnuton FW and addon on my set of XT8 and I took an USB stick (Samsung Fit USB 3.1 64GB, 12 euro on Amazon). I will now be able to quantify the I/O for my own usage (swap/diversion/spdmerlin/flexQoS/disk check) and the heat generated. Time will tell me if this was a right choice or not :)
