What is blocking snbforums ads in some browsers?

On my Mac mini running OS 10.15.6/Catalina, I don't see ads in these forums in Firefox or Chrome, but do see them in Safari. I do see them on my iPad. In Firefox, my usual browser, I have no ad blocker installed. In Chrome I have uBlock Origin installed. With it enabled, there are no spaces between posts where the ads would go. With it disabled, I see blank spaces between posts where the ads would be.

I don't mind not having annoying animated ads in my visual field while I'm trying to read posts, but the puzzle annoys me.

I see similar things running Firefox on iOS 12.4.6 on an old iPad Air. I'm told using "Strict" tracking protection vs. "Standard" can affect how ads are shown.

Mine is "standard", and turning off tracking protection doesn't make a difference w/r to the (lack of) ads.

Thanks for the report and being willing to not block ads. I'll see if my ad partner can shed more light on this.

I am running Ads again using the latest Microsoft Edge with APP blocking turned on in Edge using Windows 10 2004. It paints very fast without slowdowns.

Open your browser console in Chrome, and check the content of the Network tab while reloading a page. See if anything shows up in red indicating that specific resource was blocked.

In Chrome there are four URLs tagged "net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT" in red.
In Firefox's console, nothing is added on a refresh.
