Why does the 5Ghz channel take forever to load up after a setting change?

On the AX88U, ever since I updated the firmware to Merlin, no matter what setting I change, the 5ghz channel takes forever to boot up/show up on my PC. Some of the settings I change are only for the 2.4ghz channel and don't even touch the 5ghz yet the 5 still takes forever to boot up. Is there a way to fix this?

Make sure you don't use DFS channels or 160MHz Channel Width.

Define "forever". If you are using DFS channels it is a legal requirement that the router waits at least 60 seconds to check that those channels are clear. Additionally, if you're in the EU and the channels you want to use include the weather radar channels the wait time is at least 10 minutes.
