Why is nslookup still been in the firmwere?

Hi..

I hoped to find dig or any new dns tools in the firmware. but I only found nslookup.

Why is nslookup still there if it was advised since 2004 not to be used ? http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/nslookup.html

My concerns is that nslookup is been used for some functions for the router.

The router includes busybox's minimal nslookup function. This is perfectly adequate for what the router needs (because it rarely, if ever invokes that command directly). If you need dig you can install it via Entware.
