Why no love for the RT-N66W.

Just wondering why not many here have the white ASUS router. Really what is the difference with it and the black one? Does it have the same specs?

I believe it's exactly the same just a special white edition. Either that or we are all subconsciously racist :p

There was a time that the N66W would get confused about what model it was when you saved settings - the GUI would try to save a file called "Settings_RT-N66W.CFG" but the actual file created was "Settings_RT-N66U.CFG", and you had to go into the address bar of the browser and manually change the W to U to save the file. In some firmware revision around January 2014 it got fixed so it properly saves the settings file as "Settings_RT-N66W.CFG".

The latest factory firmware files for the U and W are identical but for the name. So apparently the hardware knows if it's black or white.

I have both and only difference is color.

I agree, different in colour and model N66W-White
I don't see other differents in models specification list

As you know N66U has two revision , in N66W assembled second revision by default.

I've never seen a revision 1. I bought my N66U shortly after launch and it was a revision 2.
