Why Tech Support is (purposely) unbearable

If you think tech support is bad, try customer support from your HRA(healthcare reimbursement account) manager. Even though it is supposed to be "your" money, they act like it is coming out of their personal pockets and you are a pick-pocket.
 
Try being that human on the other side of the phone - they're probably a 50 cent cab ride from going postal after an 8-hour shift...

I've always found killing them with kindness is a good way to get a solution... (and yeah, being a bit patient can get on everyone's nerves, and many know here that I'm not a patient guy, lol)
