Range issue is present on 384.14 as well, you have to go back all the way back to 384.12 to see the difference. If you went back and ran Merlin firmware 384.14, fully reset everyting , whats your range then?
Can you try it?

If you have to put the device right on top of your router, might as well use an Ethernet cable... And also note this is on the 2.4 GHz band. I'm referring to realistic usage scenario.
Get a Netgear R7800 and put Voxel's FW or OpenWrt on it ;-)So what should we do? Wait for Asus to fix 2.4 signal/range or is it considered faulty
Expected a lot from the 88, but ended up disappointedJust going by how many have this problem, I'm not convinced it's a hardware problem.
Currently running 2 Netgear R7000's on Xwrt working in AiMesh (works nicer)
Serious???Got answer from Asus support, they claimed it is a faulty unit. Sending it back. Ax88u
