So will be a bit or trial and error. My washing machine, I send the mechine setting's via the mobile, so this would need to be on my home network so the two devices can talk?
yet say my energy smart meter can go on guest net.

The Amazon walking by mode. I've had my Alexa from launch to control my hue, never seen that feature, So looked it up and can not find it, so guessing it has been removed now. But that was naughty of them.

Only time I have noticed AI protect warning is when I'm up to no good on some wacky sites.

Some apps and clients will require intranet access or perhaps to be on the same WLAN. But some, like WYZE cams unfortunately, communicate through the cloud... so the app can be on your intranet and the cams can be on a guest WLAN with Internet access only, and they will still communicate, out and back through the cloud.
