ZyXEL GS1900-24E config problems

I'm having problems with my newly purchased ZyXEL GS1900-24E Managed Switch. I can login fine, but any changes made in web interface are not remembered by the switch. In short I cannot change anything persistently.

I have reloaded the firmware (there is only one version) since I also had this problem with ZyXEL NWA 1120 Access Points and solved it by updating the firmware. However this does not seem to be working for the switch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know that switch personally but many smart switches, including the brand I have, have a running config and a saved config. So after I apply changes in mine, I have to also save changes if I want it to be persistent.

Thanks. Turns out that the problem is with ZyXEL not fully supporting Windows 8 yet. Accessing the interface from Windows 7 works fine.

I've seen that issue on a couple of switches with IE11. You should be able to just run the management page in compatibility mode to use the IE8/9 Java script engine and it should work okay.

That happens with my TP-Link SG2216. Interesting it works fine in the metro IE11 browser, but not the desktop version. Must have slightly different rendering engines. Running it in compatibility mode with 8.1 update 1 now works correctly on the desktop IE browser. Firefox also didn't/doesn't work. Its only with the last 2 firmware releases. The original one for the switch works just fine in all browser versions.
