New GPL could be bring newer wifi drivers... I compared my GT-AX6000 on 388.2_2 Release vs the RT-AX86U's on 388.4 Alpha... not exactly apples to apples tho.

GT-AX6000 388.2_2 Release:
wl0: Mar 6 2023 11:52:37 version 17.10.188.6401 (r808804) FWID 01-0
wl1: Mar 6 2023 11:52:37 version 17.10.188.6401 (r808804) FWID 01-0

RT-AX86U 388.4 Alpha:
wl0: Jun 30 2023 04:52:52 version 17.10.157.2809 (r801046)
wl1: Jun 30 2023 05:12:14 version 17.10.157.2809 (r801046) FWID 01-0

Slight difference. Date is newer on the Alpha. Version numbers don't seem to follow logical pattern tho. LOL!

It is obviously NOT RMerlin's control, as he already stated preivously.
Sadly, history has proven that RMerlin is constantly "questioned", regarding fixing Closed Source issues.
Glad to read that your alpha experience "so far" has been smooth and positive!
EDIT: @shabbs saw your post, and for a brief moment I thought RMerlin posted the 6000 into the alpha stage.

Truth to be told, used to be one of those who accused him for the problems, in my very beginning.

I have evolved and learned better, I guess.

Almost 15h that 160Mhz is up in the air.
In previous times, after few hours it would have fallback.

I believe it is too early to be glad, will have to wait and see.

AX88U v1 388.4_alpha1 is working well.

Comcast 1.0Gb down, 20Mb up cable service, Modem LinkAgg to AX88U allows full throughput on the overprovisioned line typical of Comcast. No scripts running. Memory at 48%. Up for 26 hr. Sig for more.

I see that it falls back when no client is connected at 160MHz.
If my laptop is connecting to wlan my router switches to 160MHz. Unfortunatly my galaxy S23 ultra "triggers" not the 160MHz as my laptop does.
I know that it is closed source - I want to tell just my observations.

I understand what you say here.
The "client" connects at 160Mhz in my case, is AX88U node.
I understand that.

In my previous experience, even with than connected- it dropped.
2 different use cases.

I guess, again, the drivers were replaced.

I just want to confirm your statement that the 160MHz should not be switched back while a client is connected. I hope that the problem is solved with the new software.

So far, so good...

Long time it was not like this.

Fingers crossed

Just popping in to confirm what others are reporting. I was never really concerned about the 5GHz dropping back to 80MHz bandwidth so I never considered it to be worth worrying about. However, after having my notebook shut down all night I was pleasantly surprised to see 160MHz kick back up straight away. Kudos to broadcom and Asus for this (I believe).

Seems like 6h ago the router is crashed few times in same hour

That is what popps up in the log before it crahsed.

Jul 23 13:15:21 kernel: eth0 (Int switch port: 3) (Logical Port: 3) (phyId: c) Link DOWN.
Jul 23 13:15:27 kernel: eth0 (Int switch port: 3) (Logical Port: 3) (phyId: c) Link UP at 1000 mbps full duplex

Not sure why this line appear, it appeared many times already.
From time to time, only in the Alpha, some port is allegadally dosconnecting.
LOgical Port 9 as well appeared.

Weird indeed.
Anyone shares the same experience?

The Sysinfo page only listed the port name and the link rate, you have the same information on the Networkmap. Hovering over a connected port will display the link rate.
If I remember correctly, the link rate in the network map does not support 10 Mbps, when the link rate is negotiated to 10 Mbps, it will show 100 Mbps in the network map, this is Asus's error, but your sysinfo can report the correct link rate.

That`s not a router crash, that`s your modem going disconnected/offline.

Thank you, but that did nit occur for a moment.
It showed few times with this issue, different logical port.

If that is not the reason, not sure what is- because after that line you would see a crash of the router.

Ethernet cable replugging or replacement, or doing an electrical reset can often resolve these Ethernet disconnection issues.
