RT-AC56U firmware Merlin 378.55 (and stock 3.0.0.4.378_4585)

I am trying to use the AC56U DDNS option to update my IPv4 6in4 tunnel endpoint address at tunnelbroker.net.

Hostname: the 6 digit tunnel ID

Username: My tunnelbroker account name

Password: the tunnel update key

I have also tried my tunnel broker password which is not the same as the key

Both passwords are 20 characters long and contain uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.

When I hit apply I get a message box

Code:
Request error!Please try again

In the syslog I get

Code:
Jul 30 16:03:42 watchdog: start ddns.

Jul 30 16:03:42 rc_service: watchdog 449:notify_rc start_ddns

Jul 30 16:03:42 ddns update: ez-ipupdate: starting...

Jul 30 16:03:42 ddns update: connected to ipv4.tunnelbroker.net (64.62.200.2) on port 80.

Jul 30 16:03:42 ddns update: bad request: Invalid API key or password

Jul 30 16:03:42 ddns update: asusddns_update: 1

I have also tried using the user ID string for the tunnel

I thought I had this working with an older version of the stock firmware and shorter passwords

DDclient running on Arch Linux can do the update using the 20 character tunnel update key

As a test I changed the update key to

um59MDDx4Y

10 character alpha-numeric and got the same errors

What am I doing wrong?

You didn't mention how you did it.

Read the below post and pick your favourable way.

First method gives least trouble. Works very well for me.
Simply add the URL in /jffs/scripts/services-start with "wget".
