My Wired only devices (Win 8.1 Pro & Win 10 Pro) are picking up devices
that they should never see

This device isnt on my lan
Its a neighbours phone

anyone know how this is showing up on wired devices

cant see the image but the only way the device should show up on the network connected device list is if it has actually connected to your network via wifi or ethernet

you will however see it in the wifi connection list if the owner has ap mode set on the device

None of the devices im pointing out are wifi capable
and the device has never connected to my lan

There have been quite a few posts about this sort of thing from Windows 8 onwards. I believe it is caused by the device associating but not authenticating with your wireless access point. But I could be wrong.

I have seen it on wifi enabled devices before picking devices up even though they dont have access to them
but never seen hard wired devices picking them up

its quite annoying that wifi devices are showing it in network
nevermind wired only devices

Must be your connection

I tried IE worked fine
RDP into remote server on totally different isp also worked

i have seen other people in the us moaning about not being able to see images on postimage.org before

i dont think net neutrality is working for you guys as it should be
and isp's are still blocking stuff they shouldnt

Well, the site here does support image upload...

Found out what it was somehow WPS had become re-enabled..
it was starting to get annoying i was seeing about 3 different phones a day on wired clients
as soon as i turned off WPS on the RT-AC88U it stopped

i have always wondered why wps is enabled in the first place , far better to only enable if needed

packets really shouldnt be making it to the lan side from random clients
wps is a bad design
