Hi All,

I don't have much networking experience, so sorry in advance for any mistakes.

I just installed a new fiber optic connection at home.

The ISP provided the modem as well as another combo device which serves as a router and VOIP box for a phone line (this is the device - https://www.adbglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/VV-5822-1.pdf).
The ISP expects me to use their router and does not support any private devices or other setups.

I do not want to use their router since I have my own which I like (Asus RT-AC68 with Asus-Merlin). The ISP router has very limited software.

I connected my router to the modem and established a working internet connection (via PPPoE).

My problem is setting up the VOIP connection.

I followed this guide (https://www.labnol.org/software/add-router-to-wireless-network/19716/) and set the ISP router as a "slave" by disabling the DHCP server and PPPoE connection, leaving that work to my Asus router. That worked great for the internet connection.
I thought I could then continue to use their router as a VOIP box however the phone line isn't working.
I don't know why.
As said, the config options in the ISP router are limited by the ISP.

So my questions are:
1. Does anyone have an idea I can try?
2. Is it possible to have the ISP router connected to my router but still make it's own PPP connection to the ISP? I see an option in my router called "Enable PPPoE Relay", but couldn't get it to work.

Thanks!
