Internet doesn't reconnect

I'm having a problem with my internet connection. When my wired connection drops out, I have to restart my computer in order for the internet to work again. Wireless devices do not have this issue. I play poker and this can be very annoying. I'm with virgin media and use the superhub 2ac provided.

Have you tried using a new cable? Powering down the whole network including the modem and power up each device one by one giving a few minutes for the modem, router and any switches you have to fully boot?
