Request for Comment: Adding 6TB drives to RS815

I figured it out. In Storage Manager > Volume > 'Volume 2' , selecting 'edit' opened a dialog in which I could change 'allocate size (GB)'. Changed it to reflect the full 1.8TB! Not sure why the default was half the max size. But voila!

Request for Comment: Adding 6TB drives to RS815

Based on the good feedback here, I opted to create 2 x RAID 1 arrays: 2x2TB (existing) 2x6TB During the install of the 6TB array, which went fine, I discovered that the 2TB drives (Vol 1 and Vol 2) were not functioning as RAID 1. IE, each contained different data. Not sure what happened; drives...

On the TWC/Spectrum forum, is it OK to post Error Logs that include MAC addresses? Isn't that a potential security exposure?

Purchase Our Own Modem for Spectrum?

Klueless, AFA what other element may cause modems to fail, I am open to suggestion. I built a NOC in which the modem is connected to a UPS. I installed positive pressure fans to pull in filtered, cold air that both cools all the equipment and also helps keep dust out. Prior to becoming Spectrum...

Purchase Our Own Modem for Spectrum?

Thank you, all. I think we will purchase our own modem, and which, TBD. Should have mentioned that we do not have modem-WiFi. The first three of four modems had the capability, but was not enabled. Our Spectrum monthly invoice indicates modem is included in our plan. I wonder, tho: 1. Can we...

Purchase Our Own Modem for Spectrum?

ISP: Spectrum Location: NYS Capital region Speed Tier: 100/10 Spectrum yesterday 01/25 replaced a fourth faulty modem in less than a year. Yeah, frustrating. In each visit, the tech checks the home run from the "pole" (hop?) into the structure. Always fine. What are the pros and cons of...

Two Routers on One Modem for Two Networks

Thank you. From 2003 – wow! Would it make sense to use an RT-N12 as the primary router, since it would be wired-only, or the N16 (again, wired-only)?
