updating from 386.7-2 to 386.9 tried flashing the new firmware twice but both times the router still shows the old firmware version post-update, not cache related because i have tried different web browsers and machines

I'll try disabling smart connect and manually picking the control channel. Perhaps I'll be able to re-enable MU-MIMO - or maybe that's a separate problem...

I am having the same problems and disabling MU-MIMO on my RT-AC5300 resolves the problem too... going back to 384.13 for example works flawlessly

I'm using the RT-AC5300 I never enabled fairness. Beamforming and mu-mimo are off. Next step will be testing the problem devices on a guest network so there's no smart connect to confirm all dropouts cease.
