updating from 386.7-2 to 386.9
tried flashing the new firmware twice but both times the router still shows the old firmware version post-update, not cache related because i have tried different web browsers and machines
I'll try disabling smart connect and manually picking the control channel. Perhaps I'll be able to re-enable MU-MIMO - or maybe that's a separate problem...
I had very similar problems - see if this helps? https://www.snbforums.com/threads/fix-wifi-continually-disconnecting-and-reconnecting-with-smart-connect.63164/
I'm using the RT-AC5300
I never enabled fairness. Beamforming and mu-mimo are off. Next step will be testing the problem devices on a guest network so there's no smart connect to confirm all dropouts cease.
Hi all
When running on 384.13 I had great success with my network, everything was nice and stable. Since then, I've had some horrific instability on portable devices and only in some locations - ironically locations with strong signal.
I think I've finally found the cause - the Smart Connect...
I matched your settings and my router had "MU-MIMO" on the professional page so I turned that off too. My desktop is now stable! Woohoo.... But my phone still repeatedly drops out while I'm using the connection (oddly doesn't seem to while it's not downloading) and my chromecast still doesn't...
Please tell me what you changed. I have the AX200 on my desktop computer and since 384.14 I have been plagued by these latency problems - have to keep turning the WiFi off and on again on my desktop. It's driving me nuts!!! My chromecast is also dropping out and requiring a router reboot every...
Makes no difference at all, beta 3 unstable and previous version 384.13 is stable
Is there anything I can capture when these disconnects occur to find out why?
Yes, using Windows 1909 fully up to date on a new OS install with the latest driver 21.50.1.1. I've tried reinstalling the driver and doing network resets in Windows.
With each drop out I must manually reconnect and I get capped at 40mb/s with poor latency until I reboot the PC (turning wifi...
Re-flashed 384.14b3 on RT-AC5300 and WiFi dropouts are back :(
Does anyone else have an Intel AX200 client to test with (almost every x570 motherboard)? So far I've only had the dropouts on this device but ONLY with 384.14b3 (384.13 completely stable)
Reverting back to 384.13 (RT-AC5300) has completely fixed my WiFi dropouts for my PC (Intel AX200 WiFi on x570 chipset). I've left my PC running for 6 hours now without a single dropout, whereas on 384.14 beta 3 they were occurring every 5-30 minutes.
There's definitely a problem here. How can...
